Centre notifies amendments to the Cable Television Network Rules, 1994

The Central Government has amended the Cable Television Network Rules, 1994, to provide a statutory mechanism for addressing citizen grievances related to TV content under the Cable Television Network Act, 1995. The new amendment introduced a three-tier grievance redressal mechanism involving broadcasters’ self-regulation, oversight by self-regulatory bodies, and a government oversight mechanism.
