TRAI releases consultation paper on Policy issues on uplinking/downlinking television channels in India

The boom in the number of television channels has not gone unnoticed. India which till 1995 had a limited set of doordrashan national and regional channels now has about 500 channels. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India mindful of the growing number of television channels has issued a consultation paper on regulating the entry of television channels.
