Apar GuptaIn a Digital India dialogue session held on 24.11.23 , the Union Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Electronics & IT, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, reiterated the need for a safe and trusted internet, emphasizing the accountability of social media intermediaries to Digital Nagriks. Following Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s concerns about deepfake threats, platforms and intermediaries agreed to align their community guidelines with IT rules, specifically targeting 11 types of harmful content, including deepfakes.
