Another mudslinging….In the recent past the Telecom Minister came under CAG’s scanner for alleged loss of Rs.26,685 crore to the exchequer in awarding 2 G spectrum licenses in 2008 (click here). But DoT refuted all allegations by stating that it will respond to CAG’s allegation in due time. But despite such assurances and confidence shown by the Ministry to preserve its integrity, the CAG senses a foul and biased process has been adopted by DoT in awarding unified access service licenses (UASL) to eight companies in January 2008 (click here).
